Carl George Goshy, Jr., 72, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026. He lived a life defined by a deep faith in Jesus Christ, a love of music, integrity, and a genuine love for people.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Carl George Goshy, Sr. and Phyllis Ann Black, Carl grew up in the close-knit community of Ingomar alongside his four sisters. His love of music began at an early age and remained the thread that guided his life's journey.

After graduating from high school, Carl volunteered to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. From 1973 to 1975, he proudly served with the 26th Army Band at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island, New York. Following his military service, he used the GI Bill to earn a Bachelor of Science in Music Performance from Penn State University before moving to Texas in 1981 to continue his music education at The University of Texas.

While in Texas, Carl discovered a passion for homebuilding that led him to found C. Goshy Enterprises in 1995. Known for his integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to quality, he took great pride in helping families build the homes of their dreams.

Music remained at the heart of Carl's life. For decades, he taught private trumpet lessons, mentoring generations of young musicians with patience, encouragement, and excellence. Many of his students remained lifelong friends, a testament to the lasting impact he had on their lives. Carl never met a stranger. His kindness and genuine interest in others turned students, clients, fellow musicians, and friends into lifelong relationships.

In 2000, Carl met the love of his life, Judy, and they were married in 2003. He embraced his role as a stepfather, but nothing brought him greater joy than being "Paw Paw." His granddaughters, Ava and Audrey, were the light of his life, and he treasured every opportunity to encourage them, make them laugh, and celebrate their accomplishments.

Carl enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, running marathons, and spending time with family and friends. Above all, he loved serving in the Music Ministry at The Woodlands Church and worshipping in the Chapel in the Woods, where his faith in Jesus Christ continued to grow.

Following a life-changing stroke in 2014, Carl faced the years that followed with courage, perseverance, and unwavering faith. With Judy faithfully by his side, he worked tirelessly through rehabilitation and continued to inspire those around him with his quiet strength and gracious spirit.

Carl will be remembered for his servant's heart, his kindness, his love of music, and the countless lives he touched as a husband, stepfather, Paw Paw, teacher, builder, mentor, and friend.

Carl is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Judy Goshy; his loving family, Brian and Allison Blankenship; Elisa and David Lombardi and their daughters, Ava and Audrey Lombardi; Laura Ornelas; his sisters, Linda Carter and husband Paul Licata, Judy and Michael Cheteyan, Kimberley and Stoney Burke, and Gretchen and Chip Haight; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, former students, and fellow musicians.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl George Goshy, Sr. and Phyllis Ann Black.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel in the Woods at The Woodlands Church, 1 Fellowship Drive, The Woodlands, Texas 77384.
