Obituary

Carl Butler, cherished husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He entered God's Heavenly Kingdom on November 17, 2016. He fought a valiant 14 year battle with cancer. Carl was born in Starkville, Mississippi November 11, 1951.

He graduated from Mississippi State University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He had a 33-1/2 year career with Amoco and BP.  After retirement, he formed his own engineering consulting firm and worked for Cobalt International for 6 years. His living and work locations included Louisiana, Texas and Cairo, Egypt.
He was married to Kathy Martin in Lake Charles, Louisiana on January 7, 1978. The were married 39 wonderful years.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Kathy, beloved daughters Julie Butler, Jill Norton and husband, Drew, grandson Kai Norton, granddaughter Mia Norton, brother Ed Butler and wife, Donna and 2 nephews Dane and Micah Butler.
A memorial service will be held at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, TX on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.  The family requests that donations be made in honor of Carl to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at donate.lls.org . We are sincerely grateful to all that have reached out in any way to comfort, support and help our family during this difficult time.
