Carl Jerome Benvegnu passed away on April 24, 2022, at the Vitas Hospice in The Woodlands, Texas after battling congestive heart failure for many years. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Shari Susan Benvegnu, who passed away from cancer on August 12, 2022.

Carl is survived by his brother John Benvegnu. He is also survived by his four sons: Daniel, Mark, Jeffrey, and Joseph; and four grandchildren, Alissa, Madison, Austin, and Quincy. He also had many nieces and nephews including Anthony, Dominick, Thomas, and Teresa Benvegnu, and Ann McEvers.

Carl received both undergraduate and master's degrees in geology from the University of Utah. He enjoyed a long career in the oil and gas industry with Amoco (BP) and Coastal Corporation (Kinder Morgan).

In life, Carl was a kind and generous person who contributed to numerous charities and was devoted to his wife, sons, and grandchildren.  In his early years, he was an accomplished baseball player and continued to enjoy sports as an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and Houston Texans, but especially the Houston Astros. He was a witty, light-hearted man that could always be depended upon for his strength and humor.

The funeral mass for Carl will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Spring at 11 A.M. on June 2nd.
