Obituary

Bryan David Smith, 47-years-of age, was born December 4th, 1973, in Malvern, Arkansas. He died August 14th, 2021, after being isolated in ICU for 21-days at a downtown hospital after courageously fighting multiple organ failures.
Bryan gave his heart to Jesus on September 24th, 1979, in Hays, Kansas, and was baptized by his daddy at Sagemont Baptist Church the following year.
Bryan, a great friend to many, was known as a caring person. He had a great sense of humor and would light up a room when he walked in. Most importantly, Bryan was a devoted husband and loving father.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Alexa Hill Smith, and his 12-year-old daughter, Karmin; his father and mother, Eddie and Alice Smith; his sister, Ashlee Morris, her husband Chris, and their children, Zachary and Zoe Lee; his half-brother, Robert Smith, his wife Missy, and their children, Robby, River, and Brook; and half-sister, Julia Grossman, her husband David, nephew Adriel, and nieces Camille and Eden.
Bryan grew up in Cypress, Texas. His early ambition was to become an Oceanographer. When he was young, he played baseball. Bryan won the art merit award at school from first through eighth grades. He continued to follow his love for art and music to the end. Bryan graduated from CyFair High School, where he played trumpet in the marching band. His loves were art and music. He played trumpet, piano, drums, and guitar. He also loved to sing.
Following high school, he spent one year in Bible college in Dallas, after which he moved back to Houston and worked with inner-city youth. He received an Associate Degree in welding from Lone Star College. He specialized in artistic metalwork.
Thank you, friends, and family, for coming today to celebrate Bryan's life.
