Bruce Getschman, 71, of Montgomery, Texas was called to his eternal home on August 14, 2017 after a courageous battle against Pancreatic Cancer. He was born in Houston, TX on November 4, 1945. He graduated from Sam Houston High School, Houston, class of 1963. He was a native Houstonian and Texas proud. He loved baseball and the Houston Astros. It didn't stop there, he was also a fan of the Texans and Rockets.

His career spanned many years of sales in the food industry. 17 years he spent as a regional sales manager for Otis Spunkmeyer Cookies. He never met a stranger. That served him well throughout his career.

He served in the US Army in Vietnam '69-'70 as a heavy duty truck driver in Pleiku. He served proudly during a difficult time in this country's history. He was proud to display an American flag for all to see.

Bruce enjoyed playing cards with all his friends and neighbors in Bonterra. Anytime someone mentioned let's play cards he was ready. He always had stories to tell. He served as scoutmaster and earned Wood badge which was quite an honor. He coached little league in Waller and served in different roles on the board for many years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Gail Sumrall Getschman, Son Wayne Getschman and wife Melissa, children, Wayne, Jr., and Tommy Getschman. Son Chris Getschman and wife Rhonda, children, J.T. Schild and wife Kathryn, Samantha Schild, Caitlin and Maverick Getschman. Sister Jeanette Wade and husband Deck, sister Ruth Seelye. One Niece and 5 nephews along with many wonderful friends.
