Bruce Alan Duncan, age 63, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Saturday, June 10th, 2023, in his home surrounded by his loving family and pets. Bruce was born February 19, 1960, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Carl E. Duncan and Evelyn E. Duncan. He was the oldest of 3 children who all grew up in Portland, Texas. He courageously battled cancer with grace and dignity, giving the utmost gratitude to the many doctors and nurses that took care of him throughout his journey. Despite a 3-year battle, his hope and faith never faded. As a child, Bruce enjoyed playing baseball for Portland little league and Gregory Portland wildcat baseball until he graduated in 1978. Bruce started his career in the Oil and Gas industry in 1979 with Coastal States Crude Gathering as an Operator. He spent the next 44 years building his career making it through several transitions including a move to San Antonio with El Paso Energy, which then led to a move to Houston with Enterprise Products Company. His career path led him to ultimately becoming the Regional Manager of liquids control at Enterprise Products Company. His lengthy career and knowledge of the industry helped him to manage an amazing team of co-workers that he was very proud and honored to be a part of. Bruce met the love his life, Lahonna, in his hometown of Portland. It was love at first sight. They married on June 1, 1985, at the Lutheran church in Corpus Christi which would lead to 38 wonderful years of marriage. In 1986, Bruce and Lahonna welcomed their first child, their beautiful daughter Lindsay Nicole. Then, in 1989, they welcomed their spirited and fun-loving son, Kyle Matthew. Bruce was very involved in his children's lives and activities while they were growing up which was evident by spending countless days and summers coaching Lindsay and Kyle's little league and softball teams, becoming president of the Portland girls' softball association and going to various football, baseball, soccer and other activities that his children were involved in. Bruce wore many titles; son, brother, husband, dad, uncle, brother-in-law, pawpaw and a great friend to many. Bruce's favorite hobbies included spending time with friends and family at Carl's Cabin in Leakey, hunting, fishing and taking his grandkids camping in the RV to various campgrounds. He was the happiest in doing anything that involved being with family, good music and good food. He was preceded in death by his Mother Evelyn E. Duncan and Father Carl E. Duncan. He is survived by his wife Lahonna; daughter Lindsay Traber (James); son Kyle Duncan (Savannah); sister Diane Lowrance (Richard); sister Donna Sikes (Randy); 5 grandchildren Skyler, Brantley and Greyson Duncan, Ally and Reagan Traber; and all his beloved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023, at 10 A.M. at Klein Memorial Funeral Home, 14711 Farm to Market RD 1488 Magnolia, TX 77354. A memorial reception will be held immediately after the memorial at Church 1:37, 14050 Park Dr Tomball, TX 77375. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center and the American Cancer Society.
