Bruce Michael Beard, born January 6, 1938, in Luling, Texas to Edgar Eugene Beard and Georgia Bee Reeger Beard, who predeceased him.

Survived by wife of 57 years, Nita Gayle Mefford Beard and twin sons Jon Bryan Beard and wife Karen and grandsons Jon-Michael Wayne and Jason Scott and Jason Michael Beard and wife Angie and grandsons Brendan Michael and Gavin Douglas.  Also survived by brothers Francis Eugene Beard and wife Joyce, David Euzell Beard and wife Mary Lou, Daniel Roger Beard, sister Margie Flo O'Connell and brother-in-law Jerry Norman who was married to sister Janice Kay Beard(deceased).

Michael is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss him.

He graduated from Lamar High School in Rosenberg in 1956.  After graduation he served 3+ years in the US Army, primarily in Germany.  After returning home, he worked for several years at Cameron Iron Works as a machinist and then went to work for the United States Postal Service and retired after 34 years.

Mike enjoyed fishing and hunting and for many years was on a hunting lease with his brothers and later on a different lease with his son.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimers Association.
