Bruce Duane Baringer, born in Red Wing, Minnesota, on December 20, 1957, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, in Tomball, Texas.
Bruce's lifelong love of music led him to become a self-taught drummer. Many fondly recall hearing the beat of his practice sessions echoing from the hog barn on "the farm" — a testament to his dedication. In 1982, driven by his passion, Bruce moved to Texas to chase his musical dreams. Over the years, he played with numerous bands and performed thousands of gigs, ultimately forming Vested Interest. For more than three decades, the band entertained countless fans, with Bruce's steady rhythm and welcoming smile becoming a beloved presence on stage. Known as a rock-solid drummer who never rushed or dragged a beat, Bruce also had a voice that added rich harmonies and warmth to every performance.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Duane "Dewey" Baringer and Marcella "Sally" Baringer, and his sister, Kimm Pray.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Baringer; his daughter, Kayleigh Cummings (Jamie); step-daughters, Kish Johnson and Christine Ramsey; siblings, Ketti Green (Greg) and Brett Baringer; as well as many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will continue to cherish his memory.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with services planned in both Texas and Minnesota.
