Brian Tiesman was born on May 3, 1947, in Clinton, Iowa, and passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 24th in The Woodlands, Texas. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Paula Tiesman, his high school sweetheart and partner of fifty-three years.
Brian's lifelong friendship with Floyd "Butch" Lawrence was a cherished bond that deepened when Butch married Paula's sister, Noreen. Their shared love of family and fast cars connected them for nearly sixty-five years. Brian's career took him and his family across Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, and Michigan before settling in Plano, Texas, in 1982. He lived there for forty years before moving to the Houston area in 2022 to be closer to his children after Paula's passing.
A devoted family man, Brian spent his free time with his wife and children. He was a man of faith and a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Plano before joining Prince of Peace Catholic Community, in Houston. He found joy in coaching youth baseball, softball, and soccer teams as his children grew up. His passion for fast cars was second only to his love for Paula. Over the years, he proudly owned several prized vehicles, including a 1968 Mercury Montego, a 1974 Gran Torino with a "400" engine—something he never failed to mention—and most recently, a 911 Porsche Carrera GTS. He also loved spending time outdoors, especially at the beach, where he enjoyed swimming and soaking up the sunshine.
Brian took great delight in his family, particularly his five grandsons. His face would light up whenever they entered the room. In the fall of last year, knowing time was running short, he was especially grateful for the opportunity to see his brothers one last time.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Soper, and father, Lavern Tiesman. He is survived by his children, Chris Tiesman (Lisa) and Nicole Grygar (Bill); five grandchildren, Carter Tiesman, Aidan Grygar, Clayton Tiesman, Maddux Grygar, and Caleb Tiesman; and three siblings, Steven Tiesman, Landon Tiesman, and Diane Tiesman.
