Brian was born to Marilyn and Thomas Russell and lived in the suburb of Milwaukie, OR until his father was transferred to the San Francisco Bay Area. The family lived in Pleasanton, CA, where he attended elementary, junior high and one year of high school. Brian played soccer and baseball there until his father was once again transferred to Denver, CO., where the family first lived in Littleton and then Highlands Ranch. Brian attended Columbine High School for two years until his father was yet again transferred to Spring, TX, near Houston.
Brian attended Klein Oak High School for his senior year and graduated from there. He again participated in baseball and pitched and played right field. After high school, Brian attended the University of North Texas (UNT) in Denton where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Entrepreneurial and Strategic Management. He was recognized in the President's and National Dean's List as well as being in Golden Key and Gamma Beta Phi National Honor Societies. He also completed the Professional Leadership Program while attending UNT.
After college, Brian settled in the Fort Worth area and worked in marketing manager positions at several well-known multinational food companies and marketing research firms.
Brian never met a stranger, was easy going and friendly to all. He had an enormous smile and sense of humor. Brian liked being with his family and friends and was very close with his older brother, Tom, with whom, among many shared interests, he spent time exploring the Rocky Mountains when the family lived in Colorado. He loved traveling and visited Japan, Atlantis in the Bahamas, Mexico, Florida, Victoria, BC, and various cities when on business such as Chicago, New York, Baltimore, Connecticut, etc. He enjoyed eating at various restaurants and sampled a variety of food specialties. Brian dabbled in cooking and became quite the budding gourmet chef.
Brian is survived by his parents, Marilyn and Tom Russell, his brother Tom and sister-in-law Tricia, and his nieces Catherine and Vivienne, who adored him.
