On the 4th of August 2017, Brian Brown lost his battle with cancer and passed peacefully surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Brian was born on May 23rd, 1958 he grew up in LeMars, Iowa and attended LeMars Community Schools and Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City, Iowa.

It was on May 14th, 1983 that he married the love of his life, Mary; it was a whirlwind romance, but the love they had for each other can never be matched. The couple extended their family with the birth of a son named Aaron in 1985 and the birth of a daughter named Rachel in 1987.

A gifted and naturally talented artist, Brian would spend his spare time painting and designing works of art for his children and his home. Brian and Mary also ran a successful business called Brown's Floor Care for many years. They were awarded Employer of the Year in 1992 for all their hard work and dedication. Despite the long hours both of them endured, their love and attention to their family never wavered.

It was in December of 2012 that the family happily welcomed their first granddaughter, Willow, daughter of Aaron and in 2016 their first grandson, Emerson, son of Rachel and husband Brett Sims. Brian dedicated all of his spare time to his family; spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren were always a gift. Taking the grandkids to the pond to feed the ducks, making shelters, or playing with dolls, while always insisting on being the dude. Any day of the week, he loved making huge meals for everyone in the family insisting they keep eating even though they were stuffed.

Despite Brian's illness and pain he continued to work as long as he could for Wilbert Vaults and spend time with his family. His family and friends knew Brian as a constant source of a good laugh and his quick wit. His naturally humorous outlook on the world would draw even those who barely knew him to become his friends. Brian was and will always continue to be a bright light in the lives of all who knew him, met him and loved him.

Brian was one of a kind; a man who loved with his whole heart and soul, had a sense of humor we could never get enough of, gave the best hugs on those tough days but always let you know what was what.
