Obituary

Brian Jon Black, 58, passed away on March 23, 2018, from medical complications at his home in Houston, Texas.  Brian was born on August 25, 1959 in Lawton, Oklahoma where his father John was stationed at the military base. Brian grew up in Houston and graduated from Spring High School in Spring, Texas where he excelled in his science studies and was an accomplished swimmer.  Following high school, he attended the University of Texas at Dallas majoring in computer science and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree.  He began his professional career at Texas Instruments and then went on to work for NASA where he participated in projects for the space shuttle.  His professional career continued with Hewlett-Packard in Houston where he was a computer engineer. Brian was a Master Scuba Diver, had a passion for snow skiing and loved spending time at the family lake house in Bemidji, Minnesota.  He is survived by his parents Doris and John Black, his brother David Black and his sister Laura Price; his sister-in-law, Rebecca Black and brother-in-law, Lee Price; his three nieces Alexandria Price, Anna Price and Avery Black and his nephew and godson, Barron Black. Other survivors include nine beloved cousins. Memorials may be given to King of Glory Foundation for The Heideman Youth Mission Trip Scholarship in memory of Brian Jon Black (King of Glory 6422 LBJ Fwy., Dallas TX 75340) .  A memorial service for the family will be held at the lake home in Minnesota on July 15, 2018.  Doris and John Black's current address is 3816 Miramar Ave., Dallas TX 75205.
