Brenda Joyce Gilliam was born December 24, 1956 in Houston TX. She received her angel wings on July 7, 2020 and joined our Heavenly Father in his kingdom of peace and love. She was 63 years old, when she joined her Father John R. Puckett, Sr., and sister Cheryl Sempe, as they welcomed her into the gates of heaven.

Brenda Joyce was the daughter of John R. Puckett, Sr. (deceased) and Martha Puckett.

Brenda leaves behind her mother Martha Puckett, whom she loved and cherished, the love of her life, Dave Gilliam, whom she married on 3/14/2008. In those short 12 yrs, Brenda and Dave always provided a loving home for their mixture of children, grandchildren, and great grandchild to gather and enjoy loving family time and making lasting memories.

Brenda is survived by numerous loving family members who she loved with all of her heart and whom will dearly miss her.

Her brother John R. Puckett Jr. and wife Mary. Sisters Barbara Weiman and husband Steven ,Johnnie Burtschell and husband Jeff, and cousin Vernette Oxner who was more like a sister than a cousin to her.

Brenda is survived by her 4 children and 2 step-children.
Stephanie Phan and husband Thong, Donald R. Dean and wife Dana, Michael Dean, Timothy Dean and wife Joyce, James Roush and wife Joana and Glen Gilliam and wife Kristen.

Brenda's 13 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter who will miss her affectionate hugs and kisses.
Preston and wife Sara, Bradley, Brent, Maya, Peyton, Clay, Camryn, Kennedy, Kaylee, Kyndahl, Kolten, Weston, Hunter and great granddaughter Hadley.

Brenda is survived by a host of nieces and nephews and their numerous children.
Athena Sempe, Stephanie Hays and husband Richard, Rebecca Puckett, Gary Puckett and wife Brittany, Amy Meeks and husband Chad, Bailey Bramblitt and husband Dillion, Candice Armenoff and husband Damon, Patrick Weiman and wife Stephanie.

Brenda was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Family was very important to her, as she always enjoyed having all her family over for Christmas. She loved to travel, cruise and the beach, especially when she could spend time with her loving husband and family. She and Dave, would often would take her mother to Lake Charles to gamble. She and Dave would enjoy date nights with sister Barbara and her husband Steve.
She was affectionately referred to as Meme by her grandchildren. Christmas gathering at Meme's and Papa D's home was always packed with family, love, laughter and often the occasional shots of "fireball whiskey" with her husband and all her children. Everyone will miss Meme's spaghetti and sugar cookies, a Christmas tradition she has shared with her children from an early age. She was a hard worker and well liked by her friends from work. She had a warming smile followed with a loving bear hug as she saw and greeted you or said goodbyes. She was a fighter and fought hard to try and beat pancreatic cancer, unfortunately she leaves behind only memories of loving fun family times, as we all mourn her loss. We are all at a loss, but we all will carry on her traditions and keep making family fun loving memories.
