Bobbie Ailene Chisolm, 94, formerly of Jal, New Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at her home in Tomball, Texas.

Ailene was born on July 23, 1929, in Gordon, Texas, to Ira and Alma Ball. She was a member of the Gordon High School graduating class of 1946. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Jal.

Bert H. "Joe" Chisolm and Ailene Ball were married on October 4, 1947. They moved to Jal in January 1948. Joe's employment with El Paso Natural Gas Company took them from Jal to Denver City, Texas, then to Goldsmith, Texas, and back to Jal in 1968.

After Joe retired from his career in 1984, Joe and Ailene were blessed to be able to spend many years traveling, fishing, and enjoying their family and friends. Ailene never retired from her love of cooking and participating in church activities. She spent many hours entertaining herself with reading and crocheting. She took great pleasure in knowing and sharing both the Ball and Chisolm family histories.

Ailene was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her four brothers.

She is survived by three children: Gin and Jim Holcombe of Tomball, Texas, Janet and Tom Hollyfield of Mansfield, Texas, and Joe and Cynthia Chisolm of Marble Falls, Texas.

She leaves her three beloved grandchildren, Mark and his wife Lea Holcombe of Sugarland, Texas, Adam and his wife Stacy Holcombe of Houston, Texas, and Brooke Hollyfield Wiggins and Lee Dutcher of Mansfield, Texas.

Her survivors also include her great-grandchildren, Tyler Holcombe of Houston, Austin Holcombe and his wife Courtney of Fort Drum, New York, Sarah and Rachel Holcombe of Houston, and Logan and Ellie Wiggins of Mansfield. She also leaves great-great grandchildren Mitchell and Melody Holcombe of Fort Drum.

Ailene also leaves a special friend, Lindy Holley, whom she always considered part of her family.

A graveside service will be held Friday, August 4, at 9:00 a.m. at the Jal Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Ministry of First Baptist Church or to the Carolyn Awbrey Fund.

Services have been entrusted to Family Service Funeral Parlor of Kermit, Texas.
