Bobbie Sue Jones Alford, 93 of Houston, Texas passed away May 26, 2026.  She was born December 2, 1932, in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Clifton and Ada Barnes Jones.  Bobbie made Houston her home in 1953.  She was a devoted wife, selfless mother, and inspiration to every life she came in contact with.  Bobbie was a homemaker, who was active in Bible Study, and Youth Ministry at Metropolitan Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son Patrick Alford and his wife Maridawn Alford; grandchildren, Ashley Vara, Rachel Sweeney, and Clifton Alford; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Alford, McKenzie Sweeney, Finley Vara, Hudson Vara and Frankie Alford and a host of extended family.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents Clifton and Ada Jones, husband, Harold Alford; a daughter thru miscarriage; brothers, Clifton, Vincent, Marcus, Oswald and Gerald Jones.

Bobbie was bold in her faith and unafraid to face death with the promise of eternal life.  She was never a slave to vanity or earthly pleasures and kept her focus on Jesus and the treasures promised in his word.  Bobbie was humble and kind in its purest form, a light that will shine in the lives of all who had the privilege to know her.
