Obituary

Birdie Mae Salazar was called home to Heaven on April 27, 2026, at the age of 70. She was born on November 14, 1955, in Robstown, Texas, to the late Thomas Raymond Trammell and Mena Esquivel Trammell.

Birdie was a woman full of life, love, and an unforgettable spirit. She was deeply creative, with a passion for painting and crafting, and a gift for transforming the ordinary into something special with her talented and resourceful hands. She never met a stranger and danced through everyone's heart, always making people laugh. She was wonderfully stubborn, fiercely independent, and truly the life of every gathering. With country music playing in the background—or a lively cumbia to dance to—Birdie created lasting memories and embraced life to its fullest.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Raymond Trammell, Timothy Nathan Trammell, and her sister, Yolanda Maria Salas.

She is lovingly survived by her two sons, Raymond Lee Salazar and his wife Julia; Joseph Anthony Salazar; her biggest fans and greatest pride; her grandchildren, Madison Salazar, Maccie Salazar-Mejia, and her husband, Alex Mejia; Morgan Salazar, Aidan Salazar, Skyla Salazar, Kaelyn Salazar, Kynlee Salazar; her beloved great-grandson, Alexander Mejia III; her brother, Terry Trammell, and his wife Hilary alongside numerous loving nieces and nephews— all of whom will forever hold her memory close in their hearts.

Birdie's vibrant personality, giving heart, and unforgettable presence touched all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, creativity, and resilience that will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever celebrated.
