?HOUSTON, TX. Billy (Bill) Loyd Weatherred, 94, passed away peacefully May 13th, 2018.  A celebration of life service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May19th at Klein Funeral Home - 16131 Champion Forest Dr., Spring. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.  Interment will be at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery - 13102 North Fwy., Houston following the service.

Bill was born in Milano Texas, March 28th, 1924 to Clara Mountain Weatherred and Thomas M. Weatherred.  He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Weldon Weatherred in 1973 and his mother Clara in 2001. His loving wife of 46 years, Dorothy J. Weatherred went to our Lord July 20, 1998.

Bill is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Wes and Janet Weatherred; daughter and son-in-law Jan and Chris Sanders; grandson Travis Weatherred and his wife Kimberly and his great grandson Daegan; granddaughter Jamie Weatherred and his great granddaughter London; granddaughter Ashley Borak and his great granddaughter Lucy; and grandson Christopher Sanders; brother-in-law and dear friend Bob McClendon; nephew Tim Mc Clendon and niece Annette Lance.

At age 18, Bill proudly joined and served in the Army during World War II from November 1942 until December 1945. He was stationed in England and served as a records clerk, MP and stationary fireman.  After discharge, he attended Texas Christian University. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and earned membership status as a Shriner. Just before his death, he was in the process of being recognized by the Julian Feild Lodge #908 for 65 years of service.

He had a long rewarding career helping those in need as an insurance carrier officer and claims adjuster.  He was an expert arson investigator and advisor to the Texas State Fire Marshall in the 1970's and retired in 1986 to devote his time and attention to help his wife Dorothy recover from a debilitating stroke.

Bill was mechanically inclined and in his younger years loved to repair and rebuild cars and anything broken. He was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather - happiest spending time with his loving family and three great grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and taught us all the virtues of patience, devotion and humbleness. We will miss you.?

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dad's cardiologist, Dr. Maged Amine and his phenomenal staff; the nurses and caregivers that visited him weekly; all of the staff and extended family at The Solana Preserve and The Conservatory and Harbor Hospice for their wonderful compassionate care and attention.
