Billy Ray Johnson was born July 6, 1955 in Liberty, TX to Billy Sherman and Juanita Louise Brookshire Johnson. The oldest of three children, he grew up in Houston and graduated from North Shore High School. Shortly after graduation on August 10, 1973, Billy enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a Landing Signal Officer on naval aircraft carriers until his Honorable Discharge in August of 1977. While in the service his journey as a father began with the birth of his first daughter, Stephanie. After his service to his country he returned home to Houston where he began taking classes at San Jacinto Community College. While attending classes he became the father to his second daughter, Jamie. As Billy continued down the road of life he was later blessed with the birth of his son Chris and daughter Stacey. Billy obtained his Real Estate License and also became a volunteer mentor at the Thomas Street Health Center. He found a focus through helping others. Over the last several years Billy recognized a gift for helping those going through tough times in their lives. As it often does, one good thing led to another, and he met his companion Lisa Rauhecker. Billy recognized the blessings he was given throughout his life. He loved his children, his family, and his friends and he will be deeply missed.   Mr. Johnson is survived by his son; Chris Cannon and wife Lizzy, daughters; Stacey Davis and husband Caleb, Stephanie Schreyer and husband Bernie and Jamie Cranston and husband Jeremy; grandchildren: Ireland Cranston, Abby Schreyer, Caleb Schreyer and Brody Schreyer, brother: Bryan Johnson, sisters; Pamela Brejcha and husband James, Debra Hemenas and husband Wayne and Kimberly McKenzie and husband Tony, his companion; Lisa Rauhecker, and other family members and friends.                                   Billy Ray's life will be remembered and celebrated at 11am Thursday, August 11, 2016 with a brief message at 11:45 in the chapel of Klein Funeral Home, 1400 West Main Street in Tomball, Texas 77375. He will then be escorted to Houston National Cemetery for burial.
