Billy Richard Griffith of Houston, Texas passed away July 23, 2020.  He was born, March 7, 1931 in Williamson County, Texas to the late Merdia Eli Griffith and Lydia Farmer Griffith.  Growing up as a child of the Great Depression, he learned the value of a good work ethic and as such at an early age worked at the 3 movie theaters in Bastrop Texas simultaneously operating the movie reels.  After serving his county in the United States Army, he started working in the oil industry working his way up to a Tool Pusher. He worked for  Stone Well Services and several other companies. After retirement worked for Priority Protection and Investigation. He was a member of Autumn Creek Baptist Church.

Billy was a loving husband and father.  Lovingly known by his grandchildren as Pa.  He always found a way to put a smile on your face and told the most interesting stories. Some of his best stories remembered by his children and grandchildren were of his dog Pecos who always slept with him on the porch. He had a rich and rewarding life and will be missed by everyone who had the privilege to know him, especially his wife Alta.

In addition to his parents Billy was preceded in death by his daughter, Billie A. Musselwhite; son, Tommy Griffith; and granddaughter, Marie Rhodes. Billy was also preceded in death by 7 brothers and 1 sister.

Pallbearers will be, James Ortego, James Ogden, Billy Rhodes, Martin Hardy, Kyle Esparza, and Rashad Muhammad.
