Billie Wittman (nee Garretson), 84, of Tomball, Texas, peacefully passed away in her sleep Thursday, January 30, 2025. Cecil and Mary Lou Garretson welcomed Billie into the world on Easter Sunday, March 24, 1940 in Beaumont, Texas.

From an early age, Billie loved animals – dogs, cats, and even horses. Throughout her life, she always had her beloved animal companions close by. On her ninth birthday, her parents gifted her a beautiful piano, which she played regularly. The piano still remains in the family today.

Graduating from Beaumont's South Park High School in 1958, Billie had many lifelong friends and kept in touch with many of them throughout the years. She also attended classes at Lamar University. She moved to Houston, Texas in 1967 and to the Tomball area in 1991.

A wonderful cook, Billie enjoyed hosting family get-togethers. Her flavorful Spaghetti and crunchy Fried Chicken with Gravy were family favorites. She also contributed many recipes to her church's cookbooks. In addition to cooking at home, Billie adored meeting her many friends at the various local tea rooms in the area.

Learning from her father and mother, Billie carried on with the family tradition of gardening. She loved growing vegetables as well as flowers and tropical plants. Many times, there were bumper crops of bell peppers, tomatoes, and green onions.

In 1977, Billie married Eric Wittman and found great happiness in their newly blended family which included his daughter, Gail Wittman Brown, and his son, Scott Wittman. Billie and her husband enjoyed traveling around the United States, Canada, Italy, and Great Britain.

Billie is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years and her brother, Jack Garretson of Fort Worth. She is survived and greatly loved and missed by her three daughters, Becky Bishop, Laura Bishop Garcia, and Patty Bishop (Shannon). She is forever cherished and remembered by her six grandchildren, Kelly Endieveri (Santo), Matthew Garcia (Rachel), Ashton Townley, Skylar Townley, Maggie Foster, and Delaney Rhymes. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her three great-grandchildren, Atlas Garcia, Marlo Garcia, and Mario Endieveri, her niece, Dr. Melissa Garretson, and her nephew, Michael Garretson.

Billie was feisty, strong, and resilient. She laughed a lot, cried at times, but always remained steadfast. Let us remember her with love, gratitude, strength, and a lasting enthusiasm for life.
