Obituary

Billie Eloise Robbins was born in Weldon, Texas to Harvey and Ellen Knighten on October 24, 1925.  She met the love of her life, Claude Elmo Robbins Jr of Luling, Texas and they married November 24, 1944 when she was just 19 years old.  On November 29, 1945 they had their first son, Charles Lloyd Robbins and on August 11, 1948, they had a second son, Billy Wayne Robbins.  Eloise and Claude were married 43 years before he proceeded her in death in 1988. Eloise was a devoted wife all of those years and family meant everything to her.  She supported her family along with her husband by assisting him with his Exxon gas stations as well as was the supervisor of the PBX operators for Sears for many years.  She remained a widow until her death, but never stopped being a loving mother and grandma to her family.  She always welcomed company and would put on a pot of beans for anyone coming.  If you were lucky, you have had her chicken and dumplings, one of our family favorites.  Eloise was also very active.  She was a member of First Baptist Church, Tomball, Texas and loved to crochet, quilt, participated in a line dancing group and she even performed in a kitchen band at many senior citizen facilities!  She was always working on a crocheting or quilting project for someone in her family or a friend.  Eloise was very involved in a quilting group for many years, meeting to teach, learn and have fellowship with those who enjoyed her passion. She would share the tales of her quilting retreats with us - how much fun she had! Eloise's home reflects the love she had for her family with a multitude of family photos, crocheting and quilting projects as well as her vast collection of roosters and chickens.  She maintained a beautiful home that anyone felt comfortable in.  Eloise has left such a large impact on her family that her legacy will never be lost. Eloise is proceeded in death by her parents, Harvey and Ellen Knighten, her husband, Claude E. Robbins Jr, and her younger sister, Frieda Nichols.
