Bill Wesley Dietrich, passed peacefully at his home according to his wishes, on December 11, 2019 in Houston, Texas. He was 56 years young at the time of his passing.

Bill was born in Craig, Colorado to Monte and Lis Dietrich on June 29, 1963.  He traveled the world young, having lived on four different continents before graduating high school. He married Alison Dombrowa on August 17, 1982 at Queens Cross Church in Aberdeen, Scotland. Bill attended the University of Southern Colorado and understood the value in hard work, tirelessly supporting his family and anyone he found in need.

Bill is survived by his wife, Alison; his daughter, Alyssa Dietrich Coleman, and husband Scott Coleman; his son, Tallon Dietrich, and his fiancé Amanda Huerta; his parents, Monte and Lis Dietrich; his brother, Trevor Dietrich and his wife Rhonda Dietrich; and his mother-in-law, Alice Dombrowa. He also leaves his grandchildren, Gunner 'Mischief' Ashford and Jett 'Mayhem' Coleman.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on January 5, 2020 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas.

Although he loved to travel, Bill was a patriot in every sense of the word and believed deeply in the constitution. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Tomball Gun Club, where he established many friendships and was able to continuously hone his precision shooting.

Bill's grandchildren were his pride and joy, and kept him laughing into his last days. To honor his passions, memorials may be given to Bastrop County Veterans Honor Guard or Bright Beginners Preschool at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, which Bill respected for their important role in the early Christian foundation of both grandchildren.

The family of Bill wishes to extend sincere gratitude to Congressman Dan Crenshaw for his personal assistance in facilitating the family's needs during Bill's extended illness; to Dr. Thy Nguyen for outstanding care and sincere concern over the last two years; and to Memorial Herman Hospice for their excellent attention and the dignified care they provided Bill. Special thanks are also extended to KenMor Electric Company whom Bill was working for when he was first diagnosed and who provided assistance in navigating the unfamiliar terrain of living with a rare disease.  Additionally, gratitude is expressed to Alison's employer, Envoy Mortgage, who delivered immeasurable support to Alison over the last two years.  This benevolence allowed Alison precious time to care for Bill– and they continue to extend compassion with her loss.

Every 90 minutes someone is diagnosed, or dies, from ALS.

This fatal disease can strike anyone at any time.  It takes away the freedom to walk, to talk, to run, to dance, to laugh, to hug, and to eat  – all of which Bill enjoyed immensely.  Please continue to keep in prayer everyone who is stricken with this horrible disease, their caregivers, and for the eradication and cure of ALS.
