Beverly Morrow Murrell of Tomball, Texas, passed away at the age of 88 on September 30, 2019. She was born on June 23, 1931 in Plainview, Texas, to Joseph Berry Morrow and Helene Culp Morrow. She was raised on a farm in the Panhandle of Texas and was the oldest of three girls.
She married Tipton M. Murrell of Crane, Texas on June 4, 1953. Together they raised three children. They lived in many different cities early in their marriage as Tip served in the U.S. Air Force and later worked for Conoco. Tip was transferred with Conoco to Houston, Texas in 1972, where he retired in 1995. Beverly and Tip moved to Tomball, Texas in 2000 to once again enjoy living in the country.
Beverly was a loving daughter, sister, and wife; mother to three children, grand-mother to nine, great-grandmother to four, and aunt, neighbor and friend to many. She was an experienced gardener, seamstress, cook, and pie baker! She enjoyed living in the country, growing flowers and vegetables, hearing the rainfall, raising cows, and loving her family with her whole heart. Her strong love of the Lord lead her to be very active in her church, First Baptist of Houston. Along with a lifelong practice of deep biblical study and love of the word she taught Sunday school, served in missions, traveled to Russia and Romania, worked with Cambodian refugees and served the poor. She was a giver and had a strong desire to help all people. Beverly was truly the hands and feet of Jesus her entire life. Her presence will be greatly missed but we rejoice that she is home in heaven.
She is preceded in death by her parents J.B. and Helene, and her husband Tip. She is survived by her sisters, Velta Simmons and Zeta Roberts; Sisters-in-law Pola Ivy (husband Woody) and Lanell English; sons Kelley Murrell and wife Joan, Randyl Murrell and wife Kendra, and daughter Melody Laurel Harper; grandchildren, Troy Murrell, Trent Murrell, Lance Murrell, Kirk Murrell, Grant Murrell and wife Christa, Laura Murrell, Nicole Harper Galvan and husband Chris, Angela Harper, and Clay Harper; great-grandchildren, Cadence, Jaxon, Braylee, and Nikki.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Joan Hunter Ministries or Texas Children's Hospital.
