Obituary

Beverly Jean Jarvis, 84, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024, in Spring, Texas. She was the eldest child born to Harold and Norma Boyd on September 20, 1940, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Darrell Jarvis; son, Kenneth Jarvis, wife Doreen; daughter, Jennifer Grissom Nowlin, husband, Kevin; grandchildren Zachary Jarvis, Emily Jarvis, Jeremy Jarvis, and Charlie Grissom; sister, Sandra Wurz; nieces Pam Wurz Young, Debby Wurz Bauerly, Robin Boyd Smith; nephew Travis Boyd.

Her parents Harold and Norma Boyd and brother Kenneth Boyd preceded her in death.

On August 19, 1961, she married Darrell Jarvis and enjoyed a loving 63-year marriage. She and Darrell raised a family in the Spring/Tomball area for the past 60 years. Beverly began working as a bookkeeper while in high school and continued in the occupation after graduating from Pasadena High School in 1958. In 1970, she and her sister opened the Random Gallery fabric store in the Champions area where they worked together for 10 years. She and Darrell started a successful manufacturing company, Jarvis Industries Inc., in the late 1980s that is still in the family today.

Beverly was a member of the Spring Woods United Methodist Church for 40 years and was active in Sunday school and church activities. She held numerous positions in various church groups and organizations. Beverly showed her creative talents by dabbling in many hobbies, including making stained glass, ceramics, quilt-making, and floral design. She was well known for her beautiful gift wrapping and was an avid reader of novels.

Beverly's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 9, at Klein United Methodist Church, 5920 FM 2920, Spring, Texas 77338.
