Beulah Miriam Swenumson passed away peacefully on September 22, 2023 in Houston, Texas. She was 97 years old. Beulah was born on July 10, 1926 to her parents, Martha and Stuart Swinney, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended Hughes High School in Cincinnati and also Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio, where she met her husband, Glen Swenumson.

Beulah was a devoted wife to her husband and a loving mother to her three children. She served as a volunteer at Jefferson Davis Hospital for many years, attending to newborns and caring for new mothers. She was a devout Christian, volunteering at her church in many different capacities, especially visiting shut-ins and comforting those who needed help. She crafted beautiful quilts for each of her children and grandchildren and was active playing tennis for decades. She traveled extensively with her husband and young children within the States, especially the Rocky Mountains, national parks, and several provinces of Canada. Those travels frequently involved fishing and occasionally camping under the stars. In later years she and Glen visited Scandinavia, several countries in western Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East.

Beulah is survived by her son, Rick Sivan (wife Rachel) and her daughters Beth Martin Applebaum (husband Ed, deceased) and Carol Baker (husband Rodney). In addition, she is survived by her eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a dear family member, Howard Martin (wife Kelley).

Beulah was predeceased by her husband, Glen and her sister, Esther Frederick.

A service will be held at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 14225 Hargrave Rd, Houston, TX, at  10:00AM on Tuesday October 3, 2023, with visitation from 9:00-10:00AM. Burial will be at Houston National Cemetery, at 1:00PM: 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX.
