Bettye Henry, age 90, of Spring, TX, joined our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Paradise on June 13, 2019.  Born Bettye Jo Savage on July 28, 1928 in Fort Worth, TX, she was the daughter of Hervey and Jennie Savage and the sister of Mary Katherine.  Raised and educated in Fort Worth, Bettye attended and graduated Polytechnic High School, where she met her husband, Douglas Leon Henry.  Bettye and Douglas were married in 1948 and have been married for 71 years.  Throughout their marriage, Bettye and Douglas's family moved 13 times, and in her role as the wife of a Gulf Oil Executive, she ensured that every new house they moved into was transformed into a loving home for her children, Ann, Phyllis, Susan, and Steven.

In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Bettye was a devoted Christian and member of Champion Forest Baptist Church in Spring, TX for the past 38 years.  She had a generous heart and was happy to help those in need.  She loved reading and spending time with family and friends.  Her kitchen was a welcome and inviting place to be, and sweet treats were always waiting for visitors.  But above all, Bettye loved to travel, and since childhood, her dream was to travel the world.  She and Douglas took cruises all over the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, visited many countries in Europe, and traveled to every corner of the United States.

Bettye is survived by her husband Douglas, and her four children: Ann Landrum (husband Gerry), Phyllis Corley (husband Bill), Susan Henry, and Steven Henry (wife Lynda).  She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jason Landrum (wife Abby), Scott Landrum, Rachel Hines (husband Blake), and Chris Henry (fiancée Lena Wischmann).  And finally, she is survived by her great grandchildren Katelynn and Collin Hines, Lillian Landrum, and Asher Henry.  A graveside service will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth, TX.
