Betty Jean Sitz Dolezal died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on March 17, 2023. She was 74 years old. The family is deeply saddened by her death, as she was loved and adored by most everyone she met. Betty was born in Houston on February 22, 1949. She was the daughter of Awald and Gertrude and sister to David and Stan Sitz. Betty would go on to live a beautiful life full of love and dedication to her family, community, and faith. Along with her husband, Ben Dolezal, they would raise three children and devote themselves to their family and faith. For many years, Betty was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and focused on serving the needs of parishioners of Prince of Peace Catholic Community for over 20 years. Betty graduated Lee High School in 1967 and entered the workforce as a secretary, where she would meet her husband of 52 years, Ben Dolezal. She would then focus her time on her family, caring for her 3 boys until 1983 where she would work in the Administration of Cypress Fairbanks ISD. After retirement from the school district in 2004, Betty began a life of joyful retirement by travelling the world on various cruises with her husband Ben. In addition to her family and faith, Betty was an avid walker; she loved walking with her husband and friends and would often be seen walking at charity events.
Betty is survived by her husband Ben; son Daniel and wife Krissa, son Brian and wife Melissa, son Wayne Dolezal; grandsons Christian, Caleb, and Lucas; along with additional extended family and friends.
