Betty Loren, age 89, passed away peacefully on January 18, surrounded by loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dennis, and her son, Brian Ward.
Betty is survived by her children, Mary Dawn Lowrey and husband Paul; Scott Ward and wife Jodie; Leanne Loren and husband Joe Charboneau; and Sandra Nygaard and husband Scott. Included in her extended and loving family are her grandchildren, Jocelyn Ward (Jordan Wekewa), Brian Lowrey (Taylor), Skylar Ward, Barret Lowrey (Haeli), Kelsie Hughes (Gary), Marissa Hormann, and Kofi Boateng, Jr. (Emma); and her great-grandchildren, Garrett Hughes, Tanner Hughes, Malcolm Wekewa, Madeline Wekewa, William Lowrey, and David Boateng. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Originally from Minnesota, Betty lived in Montana and Colorado before settling in the Houston area, which she called home for more than 60 years. Alongside Denny, she built a life rich in friendships, family, and shared adventures. They spent many cherished years at their bay house near Port Lavaca, where Betty especially enjoyed bay fishing and relaxing by the water, passing time with Denny and those she loved.
Betty will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the many friendships she cultivated over a lifetime. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to a charity of choice.
