Betty Louise Ezell, 81 y.o., of Spring, TX, passed away Saturday, August 24th, 2024. She was born November 6th, 1942, in Pascagoula, MS to the late Mrs. Louise Ezell.

She is survived by her sister, Rev. Dr. Carolyn Ezell. Including her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lt. Col. William "Bud" Leonard, Richard "Dick" Leonard, Howard "Cooper" Ezell, and James "Jimmy" Ezell and many nieces and nephews.

Betty graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1960. She worked for Chevron Refinery in Pascagoula for several years before being transferred to California. She then transferred to Houston, TX in 1995 where she retired in 1998. Betty's hard work led her to management (supervisor) with Chevron.

In 1996 she joined the Lions Club. Betty worked for several years transporting children back and forth to the Lions Camp in Kerrville, TX. She was District Governor for the 2-S2 District of the Lions Club in 2016-2017. During her time as District Governor, Hurricane Harvey struck the Texas Gulf Coast. She was selected by her Council of Governors to chair the Hurricane Harvey Response Team, where she led the group of leaders that secured over a million dollars in relief for the affected areas. PDG Betty's theme during her time as District Governor was, "Be a Difference Maker" and inspired the Lions in her District to find their special place in their community. Betty received the prestigious Texas Lions Hall of Fame award this year of 2024.

Memorial Services will be held 2pm Saturday, September 14th, 2024, at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W Main St., Tomball, TX 77375 with Rev. Dr. Carolyn Ezell officiating, Betty's ashes will be buried in MacPhelah Cemetery in Pascagoula, MS.
