Betty Jean Doughtie, born to Sim Taylor Doughtie and Madie Gaither Doughtie passed away on February 7, 2021 at the age of 95.

Betty was a Tomball girl in every way and a Tomball High School teacher for over thirty years. She earned her master's degree in business and sponsored many Tomball High School organizations and enjoyed going on field trips as much as her students did.  Betty loved animals and had many pets during her life.  Betty had many life-long friends and was an active member of the Tomball United Methodist Church until her health began to fail.

Betty was predeceased by her parents, her brother Venton L. Doughtie, Sr, her only sister Hattie Lucy Stone and her niece Barbara Stone.  The family would like to thank the many caring nurses and staff of Inwood Crossing nursing home in Tomball.

Due to the pandemic, a private burial will be held at Willow Creek Cemetery Friday February 12 at 1:00 PM.
