Betty H. DeJarnett, 92, of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed peacefully into the hands of our Lord on December 24, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Presley L. DeJarnett, her parents, John and Juanita (Freeman) Hogan, her brother, Robert E. Hogan and his wife, Leah (Highfill) Hogan. Survivors are her daughter, Debby Brogan and her husband, Tim. Her son, Gregg DeJarnett and his wife, Tracy. Granddaughter, Elizabeth Brogan Bozeman and her husband, Adam. Great granddaughters, Vivienne Jane and Lauren Jane Bozeman.

Betty was a member of Northwoods Presbyterian Church for 46 years. Her love of Susie Sadler Circle and her friends there were a mainstay of her life for many years. Prior to attending Northwoods many years earlier, Betty taught Sunday School for elementary children at First Presbyterian Church in Findlay, Ohio.

Teaching children to read was one of the passions of her life. She taught school all over the world. Starting in a one room schoolhouse in California, she then started a school with three friends in Tripoli, Libya to teach the children of expats. Betty also taught school at the American Community School in London, England. Moving to the Spring, Texas area in 1976, Betty taught school in Klein ISD for a number of years before retiring.

Betty was just as busy in retirement with her church work. She and Presley would sign up for many activities, and as he would later say, "The things mom signs us up for and only I end up going!" Every Monday for 10 years she and Pres drove to the Houston Museum of Natural Science and were docents taking groups of students through the museum. Betty sharing her love of teaching and Presley his love of "rocks."

Betty also played bridge and enjoyed gardening. She was a past president of the Memorial Northwest Ladybugs Garden Club.

Betty loved her friends and family.

Final Resting place will be Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Gifts may be given to Northwoods Presbyterian Church-Missions.
