Betty Jane Baske passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2017. Betty was born in Hannibal, Missouri on August 2, 1930. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 58 years, Norman W. Baske and their daughter, Billie Jo Baske.
Betty and Norm met in high school and fell in love, soon after they married each other in Michigan City in 1949. After marriage, they were blessed with three children; Bruce, Billie Jo and Brett. Betty was a very talented seamstress and throughout the 1970's she coupled her passion with sewing by working at Singer. In addition to sewing, Betty loved to go bowling with her daughter and husband, golf with her sons and friends, and play the slot machines anywhere that housed a casino.
After moving several times, in 1987 they finally decided to settle in Spring, TX at their beautiful home on Hampton Way Court in Northampton; which was conveniently located to Willow Creek Golf Club. Throughout Betty's golf career she successfully and pridefully made 6 hole in ones (although she would disagree and tell you that she made seven). Even though she had quite a competitive spirit, everyone absolutely loved Betty's fun and spunky personality on and off the golf course.
Betty is survived by her sons, Brett Baske and wife Helene of Spring, TX and Bruce Baske and wife Sheri of La Porte, Indiana. Her grandchildren are Aly Baske, Amanda Cabungcal and husband Adrian, Denise Mason, Jennifer Collette and husband Ken, Billie Jo Baske, Brad Baske, Sandra Schnebel and her husband Bobby, Amber Holland and Falon Holland. Great-granddaughter, Cassie Mason.
Betty always had special love for animals and happily made several donations to show her support to the SPCA. Therefore, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Houston SPCA.
