Barnett, Betty Lange Age 95 of Houston, TX born on April 27, 1924 in St. Louis, Mo. and passed away on April 5th, 2020. She married Ben Barnett on Aug. 25, 1949 and remained with him until his passing in 2008. She was preceded in death by husband Ben, brother Clarence Jr. and parents Clarence and Elizabeth Lange and is survived by sons Robert Barnett of Katy, TX, John Barnett of Dallas TX, and daughters Susan Moskosky of Washington, DC and Jo Anne Thornton of San Antonio, TX besides nine (9) grandchildren and thirteen (13) great grandchildren.

From 1942 to 1946, Betty attended and graduated from Biola College, in downtown L.A. majoring in Christian Education with the intent on becoming a missionary. Her Education degree assisted her in securing the future nursing education position she filled.

Following Biola, Betty returned to St. Louis and graduated with a diploma in nursing from the Jewish Hospital School of Nursing in August of 1949.

During the third year of her nursing program, Betty began dating her future husband, Ben Barnett, a returning G.I from WW2 who had one year remaining on his engineering degree at Rolla, MO. They married shortly after Betty's graduation from Nursing School, and after Betty joined Ben in Rolla she got her 1st job as an R.N. with a family doctor, Dr. Underwood.

After Ben's graduation in 1950, they moved back to St. Louis where God blessed Ben and Betty with four children. Apparently, God had decided that her "missionary field" was her family.

From 1963 to 1966 Betty worked as a Psychiatric Nurse at St. Vincent's Hospital. When Ben accepted a promotional transfer from St. Louis to N.Y with Shell Oil, the family moved to N.J. There, Betty worked as a Nursing Instructor at Rockland State Hospital in N.Y and in N.J. at the Hackensack Hospital School of Nursing until 1970.

When another company transfer moved Ben and Betty to Houston, TX, she worked at Herman Hospital School of Nursing from 1970 until 1975. Afterwards she became Director of the Education Department at Northwest Houston Hospital until her retirement in 1984.

Ben and Betty spent leisurely time camping and enjoyed hosting family holiday get-togethers. Their first retirement vacation was to Florida with Betty's Mom Beth, camping among the orange groves. Over the following years they camped in Canada, across the U.S., and up the west coast, visiting family and friends along the way.

Betty enjoyed people, family visits and church participation. She brought joy to all she met and was beloved by her family. She was a faithful servant and witness for Jesus Christ throughought her life, and a prayer warrior for family, friends and country. A loving mother and caretaker of her family, she is much loved and cherished.
