Bettie Hughes, 86, of Houston, Texas, passed peacefully in her home November 11th , 2022. Bettie was born October 29th, 1936, in Good Springs, Texas to the late Gipson Owens and Vera (Dukes) Owens.

Bettie was a loving wife, devoted mother, and adoring Nana. She cherished her time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bettie built lasting friendships through Lakewood Garden Club, outings with "the ladies", and church circles. She was closest to God when tending to her garden and seeing His creation in nature.

Bettie's legacy lives through her husband Jack Hughes; children Bob and Barbara Hughes, Gina and Wade Worthy, Steven and Tammy Hughes; grandchildren Amy and Casey Woods, Stephanie and Taylor White, Jayson and Bailey Worthy, Jonathan Hughes, Ashley Hughes; great grandchildren Trace Woods, Cailey Woods, Claire Woods; sister Sarah and Bill Plunkett; sister-in-laws Jo Brown and Pat Vanderwater; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Including her parents, Bettie was welcomed into heaven by her in-laws Joe and Veta Hughes; brothers Billie Owens, Bobby Owens, John Owens, and Mack Owens; as well as niece Allison Plunkett Williamson.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday, November 15th , 2022, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, Texas 77379. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 16th, 2022 at 10:00 am at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, Texas 77379, with Reverend Jim Reiter officiating. Interment to follow in Klein Memorial Park 249 in Pinehurst, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers are Brett Owens, Logan Plunkett, Casey Woods, Taylor White, Jayson Worthy, and Jonathan Hughes.

Memorial contributions can be made to Lakewood United Methodist Church.
