Berta Bauman Weitzman was born in Rosario, province of Santa Fe, Argentina on November 5, 1940, and she passed away in Houston, Texas, surrounded by her loving family, on March 23, 2019.

Berta was a selfless and devoted wife for 55 years.  Her world always revolved around her family. Especially her six grandchildren who would love to gather around her kitchen to eat her famous "ñoquis", a recipe that has now been passed on to her children and grandchildren. Lovingly called "Nani" by her grandchildren, she will always be remembered for her never-ending smile, positive attitude, devotion to keep the family united, and for selflessly giving so much of herself to help others.

Berta taught and showed her family many things.  Including, the meaning of loving one another unconditionally, devotion, and the value and importance of being and living as a united and caring family. She courageously fought cancer for many years.  Her fortitude, inner strength and determination were present and admired until the end.

Berta worked as a preschool teacher assistant for more than 22 years where she was loved by parents, staff and especially the children who lovingly called her "Mrs. Berta".

Berta is preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Rosa Bauman, and is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Silvio Weitzman; her children, Sergio Weitzman and wife Carolina, Javier Weitzman and wife Mayte, Mariela Delgado and husband Salvador; her grandchildren, Andrea, Alejandro, Sebastian, Vanessa, Gabriel, and Marisa; her sisters Ana Deffis-Whittaker and Coca Lipsman, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Berta Weitzman will be held on Friday, March 29, 2019 at Klein Funeral Home, 9719 Wortham Blvd., Houston, TX 77065: 1:30 pm Family Visitation, followed by 2:00 pm prayer service led by Rabbi Dan Gordon from Temple Beth Torah.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
