Helen Bernice Gracey was born on November 19, 1932 in Houston, Texas and passed into the arms of the Lord on July 2, 2021. Bernice was preceded in death by her beloved husband JC, her parents Walter and Helen Mae Plaster and her 3 older siblings Walter Plaster, Colleen Lott, and Jerald Plaster. She loved all animals but had a deep affection for horses and dogs, both of which were a large part of her life.

Bernice met the love of her life, JC, while attending Milby High School. Upon graduation, they married at Park Place United Methodist Church and had 57 amazing years until his death in 2009.  In 1967 Bernice and JC moved the family to Tomball, Texas and together they raised five children, one girl and four boys and numerous horses, dogs, cats and other animals. Bernice's love for showing Arabian horses led to a very active membership in the Gulf Coast Arabian Horse Club. With such a large family, life in the Gracey home was never dull and Bernice devoted her life to making sure they all became God loving, respectable adults. Bernice was a member of Tomball United Methodist Church for over 50 years and while there served God in countless volunteer activities.

She loved God first, followed by JC and then her family as close seconds. Bernice was always there! She carried her high expectations and love over to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom absolutely adored her.

The family has so many memories of this wonderful woman and the way she uniquely touched each of their lives, words alone cannot pay tribute to such a great lady. All of us will remember her positive impact on our lives forever. There is no doubt when she met the Lord his first words were "Well done good and faithful servant."

Bernice is survived by her five children Pam and Pat Hudgins, Craig and Carrie Gracey, Mark and Janenne Gracey, Gary and Denise Gracey, Jeff and Darci Gracey. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren all of whom love her dearly. We will all carry her with us in our daily lives forever.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1 to 2 pm on Saturday, July 10, at Tomball United Methodist Church, 1603 Baker Street, Tomball, TX 77375.  The funeral service will begin at 2pm.  Interment will follow at Klein Memorial Park – Spring-Klein, 9714 FM2920, Tomball, TX.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Tomball United Methodist Church or her favorite charity, World Vision, of which she faithfully sponsored many children over the years.
