Anna Bernice Knapp DeMoss was born in St. James, Missouri on July 7, 1922 and passed away July 27, 2019.  She will be greatly missed by those who loved her and those whose lives she touched. Bernice was a devoted wife, mother and friend.

Following graduation from Pampa High School in 1940, she attended Draughons Business School. In 1942, Bernice married the love of her life, Warren E. DeMoss prior to his service in World War II. She is survived by their son, Robert Warren DeMoss (Sharyl Ingram), and daughter, Marilyn DeMoss Sumner (Thomas G.) and numerous well-loved Knapp, DeMoss and Humphreys relatives. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband (1992); parents Harlan Knapp and Athelia Ray Knapp; her brothers, Halbert and Sandford Knapp; and her sisters, Billie Ben Knapp Cox and Lucille Knapp Carruth.

Warren's oil exploration career with Amoco resulted in frequent family moves throughout West Texas over 20 years before locating to Midland, Fort Worth and Houston. Bernice resiliently resettled the family in each new town, always creating a warm, inviting home. Family and home were the center of Bernice's energies, especially holiday gatherings and phone calls with her large extended family.

Bernice's favorite pastimes were travel, gardening, crafts, fishing, church or community-based activities, and researching/investing in markets. Bernice connected with each new community through church membership, most recently at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church. The last fourteen years, she enjoyed special friendships with neighbors and staff at The Buckingham. Bernice and her family greatly appreciated the loving support of Kindred personal at-home care assistants the last three years, but everyone knew that she was still the decision maker at 97!
