Obituary

Bernice Canada Bradfield returned to the presence of her Lord on May 22, 2018 after an extended illness. Born in Modesto, California on February 17, 1931, she is survived by her husband, Robert Elliot Bradfield Jr., daughter Anna Bradfield (husband Chris Bunnell), daughter Barbara Bradfield Powell, son Robby Bradfield (wife Terri Bradfield), son Michael Bradfield, seven grandchildren (and spouses) and 12 great-grandchildren.

Bernice graduated from Electra (Texas) High School in 1949. She married Bob Bradfield on September 23, 1950.  The couple resided in Wichita Falls and Abilene, TX.  During that time Anna (March 1, 1953) and Barbara (May 30, 1955) were born.  In 1956, they moved to Canada, traveling from Ontario to Alberta.   Robby was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on September 1, 1959.  The family returned to Alice, Texas in 1962 where Michael was born on July 13, 1964.  In 1968 they moved to Tomball where she remained until her death.

Bernice was a devoted mother and grandmother spending countless hours managing, transporting, organizing, supervising, chaperoning and developing her children's activities. As her grandchildren were born, she reveled in being their Nana.  Bernice was passionate about being a wife and mother, these were the roles that defined her life.

She was a loyal and loving friend across her entire life. She maintained friendships for decades and made sure to keep in touch.  She was very blessed to have been a part of the Sisters Achieving Perfection (SAPS).  A group of women who formed the Kitchen Committee at Tomball United Methodist Church who catered to raise funds.

Bernice's second passion was her faith and her church. She held almost all volunteer positions at Tomball United Methodist but was most dedicated to United Methodist Women, Methodist Youth Fellowship and church and conference administration.  She served as a Sunday School teacher both in Texas and Canada.

Mrs. Bradfield is deeply loved by her family, friends and community. She will be sorely missed.
