Obituary

Mrs. Belinda Odette Behne Ligon passed away unexpectedly from complications with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital on Monday, December 2, 2019 at the age of 64.

Belinda was born January 25, 1955. She was raised in Monahans,Texas and Austin, Texas, with her three siblings. She graduated from Reagan High School, class of 1973. She married her high school sweetheart also in 1973, on October 6. Belinda had two daughters and will be remembered as a giving and kind mother to both her girls. She was a friend to many, and a support system to most. Many people who knew Belinda would describe her as a "force to be reckoned with." She loved her family more than anything else and would give the shirt off her back if it was needed. Belinda was a fighter, and she was not known to give up. She was a conversationalist and enjoyed talking to everyone she met.

She was an avid reader, choir member, and gardener who loved spending time in her garden, feeding the birds, and watching her flowers bloom. Belinda was a beautiful and kind hearted soul, one of the best people you might have the joy of knowing. She will be dearly missed by many, and was loved fully by her family and her friends.

Belinda is survived by her husband, Gary Ligon; children, Kathy Ligon and spouse Jana Echols;  Wendy Stroda and spouse Jeremy Stroda; grandchildren, Jameson Mallon-Echols, Kacyn Ligon-Echols, Chad Stroda, and Josie Stroda; siblings, Janie Brown (spouse Benton Brown), Susan Urban, and Henry Behne (spouse Karol Behne). She is preceded in death by her parents, Bob Behne and Beverly Behne.
