Berwyn Dale "Andy" Anderson, 95, born on January 5, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Memorial Day, May 30, 2022, in Tomball, Texas.  Andy graduated from Lane Tech High School in 1945, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII on his 18th birthday.  He served in the South Pacific on the minesweeper, YMS 269, as Electricians Mate 3rd Class.  Andy would tell stories of that time that sometimes resembled "McHale's Navy", including a pet monkey on board.  After the war, Andy went home to the northwest Chicago suburb of Norwood Park and became involved in the Methodist Youth Fellowship group at Norwood Park Methodist Church, where he met the love of his life, Rosemarie Schick, also a Norwood Park native.  Andy used the GI Bill to attend Northwestern University, where he obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Immediately after graduation, he and Rosemarie married in 1952, and began their new life driving from Chicago to Los Angeles on the historic Route 66.  They settled in Los Angeles, with Andy working for Shell Pipeline Company.  They began their family there, and over the next several years, Andy was promoted to various positions with Shell Pipeline in Fresno, San Francisco, Indianapolis, and finally Houston.

Andy worked for Shell Pipeline for 34 years as a professionally licensed engineer, and turned to a life of sailing on Lake Conroe in his retirement.  He loved golf, tennis, chess, playing a game of hearts with his family, watching his Northwestern Wildcats and Oakland Raiders football, and organizing family ping pong, bumper pool and croquet tournaments every chance he got.

Andy was preceded in death by his wife Rosemarie of 52 years, parents Bertram Christian Anderson and Agnes Henrietta Stoffregen Anderson, brothers Ross Truman and identical twin Bertram Carol Anderson, and long time companion Lou Hunter.  He is survived by his children:  Christy Marie and husband Richard Smith; Candice Sue, widow of William Baskerville; Carrie Beth Anderson; and Cathleen Dale and husband Kyle Smith.  Niece:  Carolle Anderson.  Grandchildren:  Haley Elizabeth King; James Turnbow and wife Christina;  Jeanie Turnbow;  Alec Baskerville; and "Andy" Anderson Smith.  Great-grandchildren:  Cruz King; Devin Turnbow; Aiden Holleman; Adeline Turnbow; Charles Coker; Evan Coker; Karli Coker; and Tanner Zaiontz.

There will be a graveside service with military honors at Klein Memorial Park, 9714 FM 2920, Tomball, Texas 77375, on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 10 am.  We thank you all for your prayers and blessings.  Please raise a toast to him to celebrate his life.
