Barbara Ann Stepchinsky was called home by the Lord on November 1, 2017. Barbara was born in Weimar, TX on November 30, 1936 to Henry and Josephine Billeck. She grew up in Weimar with her parents, brothers, and sister.

After graduating from Weimar High School in 1955, Barbara moved to Houston to attend Sacred Heart Dominican College, graduating with a Bachelor's of Nursing and earning her RN of Nursing. While practicing nursing at St. Joseph's Hospital in Houston she met Joe Stepchinsky. Joe and Barbara married in 1960 and had 3 children: Joe Jr, John, and Joan. Barbara decided to stay home and care for their 3 children until she and Joe started their own business, Jobar's, in 1968 and established Jobar's Camera Center in Bellaire, TX.â  Barbara continued working at the store after her husband Joe passed away in 1986 until 1998 when she closed the business and retired. She enjoyed taking pictures, playing solitaire, and spoiling her grandsons. She loved the Houston sports teams and always watched the boy's favorite teams so they could talk about sports.

Barbara was an avid collector and wearer of dress pins, especially Christmas Tree pins. She had more pins than she could ever wear or pin on her purse at Christmas. You could always count on Barbara to carry on the Billeck Molasses Christmas cookie tradition. After retiring, she moved out of Bellaire in 2004 to Spring, TX to be closer to her grandsons. She loved visiting and laughing at the past week's events during family Sunday dinners. When asked what she would like for dinner she would always say, "I like everything"  and eat everything, saying it was good. When asked what she liked best for dessert, she would say "I like pie" . When asked what kind of pie, she always said "I like pie". 

Barbara was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas since 1971. Barbara served two terms as Regent of Court Blessed Trinity #1971. She was past District Deputy #19, and Texas State Publicity Chairman. Every year she loved sending Christmas boxes to seamen and our Military as one of the Catholic Daughters' service projects.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Joe Stepchinsky and parents Josephine and Henry Billeck. She is survived by her children, Joe Jr. and wife Gina Stepchinsky, John and wife Karen Stepchinsky, and her daughter Joan Stepchinsky. Grandchildren John Jr. and wife Natalie Stepchinsky, and Gregory Stepchinsky. She is also survived by her brothers Henry Billeck, Paul and wife Maxine Billeck, and her sister JoHelen and husband Edward Posas, along with many nieces and nephews.
