Obituary

B arbara Ann Miller

We are sad to announce Barbara Ann Miller has passed away in The Woodlands, Texas at Memorial Hermann Hospital after a battle with Leukemia.

Barbara was born on October 18, 1948, in Homestead, Pennsylvania and was a devoted wife, mother and grandparent who lived her life joyfully. She attended Robert Morris Business School in Pittsburgh PA. Barb and Harry just celebrated 58 years of marriage and had planned a short time away to celebrate when her illness prevented it. Barbara loved to travel and recently traveled to Flagstaff Arizona and Walt Disney world in Florida with the whole family. She loved the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Idlewild and the Palm Springs Area where they owned a home at PGA West. Barb also loved animals and had a ring camera setup to see and talk to her cat Razzi from the hospital.

Barb passed along to the Children her love of our Lord God and willingness to forgive those that hurt you and to not carry hatred but prayers to our Lord for those to be enlightened and saved.

Barbara was a successful businesswoman and did her first work in the Accounting Department at Kaufman's headquarters for one of the largest Department stores in Pennsylvania. In Texas she worked with Lehigh an Engineering Service Company Harry started with a past employer and created all the contracts for new work and office organization. In the off hours she managed the HOA and implemented take over from a Management Company. Barb joined a large Cable company in Northwest Houston setting up new applicants and training others on customer service and finally led converting all accounts to a computer server in Dallas. After merger of the Cable Company with Time Warner, Barbara joined Retriever Systems as Account specialist with the CFO, did all financial analysis of new companies to determine if they would be accepted.

Upon sale of Retriever, she left and joined Rector Seal in Houston, TX leading Customer Service and managing the ERP system related to inventory and customer returns and issues.

Her past experience with Retriever led to her joining the CFO in doing a startup of a new company like Retriever setting in place all systems for approval, addition and accounting of businesses on computer systems.

Rector Seal reached out to Barb to return and she managed customer service and ERP again and started integration of task in the early 2000 SharePoint and trained users how to use it to find their work and complete it. Barb retired from there after surgery from a car accident.

In Retirement Barbara managed multiple properties in the United States controlling electronic access, security and HVACs. Her ability to control these things amazed several realtors she worked with who were much younger and had none of those capabilities. Harry had Barb control all their systems at home after he set them up.

Most of all she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a spirit filled Christian.

Barbara is survived by her husband. Harry G Miller and her children Kimberly Ann Singletary and her husband John Singletary, Carrie Ann Slavin and her husband Charles Slavin, her Grandchildren Mia, Colton, Charles III, and Dakota and her beloved niece Beth Hyzak and her daughter Anjali.

She was preceded in death by her parents Francis Phillips Blasko and Paul S Blasko; her brothers Michael Blasko, and Paul S Blasko Jr. and Barbara.
