Barbara L. McMillan passed away peacefully on Monday, February 28, 2022, at the age of 75, with her husband, Mike, and family members by her side, at the home they shared in The Woodlands, Texas.  Barbara lost her battle with angiosarcoma, a rare cancer associated with radiation therapy, lymph vessel damage, exposure to chemicals and various other risk factors.

She was born in Houston, Texas, on November 29, 1946.  Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Vernett Clapp and Louise Davenport Clapp, her sisters Sandra Hebert, Beverly Nunley and Merle Vilo.  She is survived by her spouse, Mike McMillan and her brother, Tommy Clapp and his wife, Sommy, brother in law Mervin Hebert and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.   Barbara loved her family dearly.

Barbara graduated from Arroyo High school in El Monte, California in 1966.  She played flute in the marching band and orchestra.  After graduation and living in Virginia and Kansas for 10 years, she returned to Houston in 1977 where she cared for her widowed mother for 17years.  It was in Houston, where she began her oil industry career with Reed Tool Company which lasted for 31 years.  She started as a file clerk and advanced to an executive secretary.  It was also in Houston where she met and married Mike McMillan.  They were married for 28 years.

Barbara was an avid sports fan.  Two of her favorite players were J. J. Watt of the Texans and José Altuve of the Astros.  She proudly wore her jerseys in the games and often surprised everyone with loud outburst of excitement during play.  She was also a competent coastal fisherman and camper.  She and Mike frequently visited remote Texas beaches on holidays and long weekend trips.  She loved to observe all critters, shelled, fury, scaled or feathered.  Barbara's cat, Cupcake, will miss her dearly.

Her body will be cremated and the memorial celebration will be at Klein Funeral Home Chapel, Tomball, Texas.  Date and time will be announced as soon as arrangements are finalized.

Barbara loved our nation's defenders and supported them regularly.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any of her favorite charities listed below:

• "Wounded Warriors"
• "100 Club" (our civil servants - Fire, Police, EMT)
• Or, "children's cancer" programs

All will miss Barbara's infinite love and kindness

Basked  in the beauty and glory of God.  Yet we know that  angels are also among us quietly sharing souls with our beloved.  Oh dear Barbara, your passing is born in sadness by those who loved you.  But also in gladness for having had you in our lives.  You taught us that angelic souls have a soft and caring spirit.  And a feisty, no nonsense attitude.   We will carry you always in our hearts.  Rest in peace, our angel.  We love you so."
