It's with a mix of profound sadness and overflowing love that we are sharing news about our incredible Honey. She peacefully left us on April 6, 2026, at the age of 87. Barbara Brown, affectionately known to everyone as "Honey," was truly a gem—a genuinely loving soul who touched everyone she met.
Anyone who knew Honey quickly saw she had an incredibly intense love of life. She had a positive energy that could lighten any moment. Honey and her husband Andy, aka "Pawpaw," were high school sweethearts, and their 47-year marriage was a beautiful testament to enduring love, through thick and thin. Family was always Honey's top priority. She had an infectious enthusiasm for living life to its absolute fullest.
She is now reunited with her husband, Andrew Brown; beloved parents, Pansy and Onnie Dykes; her in-laws, Ada and Cecil Brown; and her nephew, Jerry Frye. She is also preceded by her adoring son-in-law, Rondy Spardella, and her partner of many years, Jerry Kendall. We can just imagine the joyous reunion they're having.
She leaves behind her loving daughter, Cheryl Spardella, and son, Daryl Brown, and son-in-law, Bart Bakenhus, as well as her cherished, grandchildren and their spouses, Rondy L. Spardella II & Brandie Spardella, Dustin L. Spardella & Sarah Spardella, and Brandi Phenix & Kyle Phenix. In addition, her great-grandchildren Stratton, Hudson, Luca, Luciana, Vance, and Elaine. Honey is survived by her loving sister Joyce Frye, nephew Tim Frye, and niece Kelly Frye. She also leaves a void in the hearts of countless extended family members and friends whose lives she brightened.
We'd love for you to join us as we celebrate the wonderful life Honey lived and the countless memories she created with all of us. The family invites you to celebrate Honey by wearing shades of red and purple, honoring her vibrant spirit and the beautiful way she lived her life. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit and love will certainly live on in all of us.
