Obituary

Barbara Anne Keating Braun passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on December 27, 2022.

Barbara was born in New York City on March 4, 1945.

Barbara graduated from The Convent of the Sacred Heart in Manhattan Borough of NYC.
She then graduated from The Duchesne Residence School in Manhattan with a degree in Teaching.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dr. John H. Keating, Jr. and Joan Hoit Keating, her husband of 53 years Peter Braun and her beloved son Matthew Peter Braun.

She is survived by her sisters and brother:
Joan K. Tarzy of Spring Lake Heights, NJ
Sarah K. Homann of Lauderhill, Florida
and John H Keating III of Bradenton, Florida.

Her paternal Grandfather was John H. Keating, a Trustee of Columbia who has an Academic Chair named for him at Columbia University Physicians and Surgeons : John Keating Chair of Medicine.

She is also survived by her three daughters and son: Kirsten Brokken (husband Eric), Kim Carstens, Gretchen Barchak (husband Rich) and Eric Braun (wife Ann Marie). Barbara also leaves behind a legacy of love that includes thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
