Obituary

Barbara, age 76, passed unexpectedly and peacefully while in Colorado to attend a friend's wedding on Sunday, August 29, 2021. Born in Oklahoma September 19,1944, she and her parents, Bob and Lucile Berry, moved to Houston when she was 18 months old. A few years later their family grew by one more, Ronald F. Berry. After growing up and graduating from Bellaire High School and Sam Houston State University, she became a teacher. She taught girls P.E., social studies, and special education for 24 years. She raised two daughters, got her master's degree, and worked various other jobs along the way. Barbara was always "mom" to all the kids she met. She never met a baby or dog she didn't like or have to speak to. She had a quirkiness that endeared her to so many.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Bob Berry 2008, Lucile Berry 2015, and 2 ex-husbands, Mark Himel and John Rothwell. She is survived by her brother- Ronald F. Berry and wife, Pam; her daughters- Melanie Boozer and Bonnie Theimer with husband David; her grandchildren- Rachell Salser, Austin Boozer, and Lauren Morrison; great-grandchildren- Bently Boozer and Tamzin Singley; nephews- Zach Berry, wife Vanessa, and children Jase, Jonah, and Jasper, Nick Berry, wife Tatyana and daughter Isabella, and Lucas Berry, fiancé Shelby Bates; and so many friends.
