Barbara "Bobi" Batey of Spring, Texas passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at the age
of 80. She was born on June 3, 1940 to parents Cecil and Hilda Meynig in Beaumont, Texas.
She was the oldest of 3 children.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Mike; daughter Teri (Les) Powell; son Ross
(Kim) Batey; and grandchildren, Ashley, Erika and Michael. She was preceded in death by her
parents; brother Donal Meynig, and sister Peggy Russell.
Bobi was a social butterfly who never met a stranger. She loved to bowl, play tennis, read,
paint ceramics, host parties, and family gatherings especially at Christmas time. She formed a
large chapter of the "Red Hats" in Magnolia where she made many friends while engaging in
lots of fun activities.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren.
The family is forever grateful for the loving care given by the Villa Toscana Long Term Care
facility.
