In Loving Memory of
Baldemar A. “BJ” Perez, Jr.
February 23, 1967 – October 17, 2026
Baldemar A. “BJ” Perez, Jr., 59, was born on February 23, 1967, in Kingsville, Texas, and passed away unexpectedly on October 17, 2026, in Houston, Texas, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories, laughter, and love.
BJ dedicated more than 28 years of his life to the nursing profession, serving as a registered nurse in emergency medicine. Throughout his career, he cared for countless patients during some of their most vulnerable moments.
While nursing was his profession, some of BJ’s greatest joys were found far from the hospital. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing, especially when sharing those experiences with his children. His happy place was the ranch in South Texas, where he could escape the demands of everyday life, enjoy the outdoors, and spend time doing what he loved most. Whether hunting or simply enjoying the peace and beauty of the ranch, those moments held a special place in his heart.
BJ was also a natural jokester who loved to make people laugh. He had a playful sense of humor and was always ready with a joke, a funny comment, or a little teasing. His humor was part of who he was, and the laughter and stories he leaves behind will continue to bring smiles to those who knew him.
BJ shared 31 years of marriage with his wife, Tricia. Together, they built a life, raised three children, and shared countless experiences that became the foundation of their family’s story. Through the years, their lives were woven together by family traditions, celebrations, challenges, and memories that will remain a lasting part of BJ’s legacy.
BJ is survived by his wife of 31 years, Tricia M. Perez; his children, Abigail Perez-Kern (Jarrod), Noah Perez (Mia), and Grace Perez (Alexa); his parents, Baldemar and Irma Perez; his brothers, Rene Perez, Omar Perez (Shelly) and Sergio Cantu (Jessica); and his sister, Deanna Cruz. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Kathleen Atencio (Nick); his brothers-in-law, Mark Vickers (Traci) and Matt Vickers (Elaine), his best friend David Mitchell (Jan); along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Life is measured not simply by the years we are given, but by the moments we share, the laughter we create, and the memories we leave behind. For BJ’s family, those memories will always include the wide-open spaces of South Texas, time spent together at the ranch, and the unmistakable humor that made him BJ.
A graveside service celebrating BJ’s life will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Klein Memorial Park, 9714 FM 2920 in Tomball, Texas.
Though he is no longer with us, his laughter will echo through our memories, his stories will continue to be told, and a part of him will always remain beneath the wide-open skies of South Texas.
