Obituary

Arved E. White, age 78, died on Monday, July 17, 2017, in Houston, Texas. He was born in Gonzales, Texas, and spent his early childhood living in Prairie Lea, Texas, as the middle child of five children. He attended Lamar Jr. High and Lamar High School in Houston where he achieved All City honors in Basketball, Football, and Track. He went on to attend the University of Texas where he played football and basketball. While singing in the University Choir, he met Joyce, his wife of nearly 57 years. He was a prominent banker in the Houston area for 50 years, and was active in the community through the local water district and various political and charitable organizations. He most enjoyed gardening, Longhorn sporting events, working on the family ranch, and spending time with his family. He was dearly loved and respected by his family, friends, and colleagues and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Joyce White, his children Devra Joyce Rodriguez, Angela White Hultquist, Arved Andrew White, thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
