Reverend Anne Kirby Peacock Wiser passed peacefully on February 8, 2022. She had been ill for over a year and was able to celebrate her 93rd birthday with three of her five children.

Anne was born on November 20, 1928 in Blackshear, Georgia to her parents Benjamin Martin Peacock and Georgie Dolphie Kirby. She was the third of five girls and dearly loved her sisters.

After her parents divorced, she and her father moved to Baytown, Texas where he added another wife and loving stepmother, Willie Jewell Waters, also from Georgia.

Anne graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1946 where she was extremely popular and established lifelong friendships. Acting was her favorite activity and she truly was a good actress and singer.

After high school, Anne married Lee E. Bishop and worked for Humble Oil to help put him through dental school. They had three children before divorcing in 1960.

Anne met Gilbert A. Gorman at The Alley Theater in Houston. They married and had two children together and enjoyed Gil's job as an advertising and public relations man attending gala events with film actors visiting the Houston area. Anne was involved with B'nai B'rith and The Houston Women's Business Association as well as participating in her local Baptist Church cantatas and passion plays.

Anne was unique in that she was brought up as Baptist but had married a Jewish man and culturally integrated her family into both kinds of activities and ceremonies. For several years she worked for a builder and became an interior designer assisting buyers with decorating ideas and building choices. She was an amazing cook and created a beautiful home and yard full of colorful flowers.

After Anne and Gil parted ways, she married Bob Wiser and helped him with his Houston Chronicle Distributorship. They traveled and enjoyed the grandchildren. She was called to the ministry in her early sixties, writing A+ papers and graduated from Houston Graduate
School of Theology in 1990.

Anne was able to help others with her time as a hospital chaplain and Senior Adult Minister. She enjoyed officiating her oldest daughter's second marriage in 2007 and her grandson's wedding in 2012 along with numerous other weddings and memorials.

In their later years, Anne and Bob moved to Katy and then on to San Marcos to be closer to her oldest daughter Brenda in Wimberley. Brenda assisted Anne with Bob's failing health.

After Bob's passing, Anne moved to The Woodlands and enjoyed life on the lake at The Forum. She had fun dining with friends and attending music socials. When her illness prompted more care, Anne moved to New Haven in Tomball to be near her youngest daughter Sandra in Magnolia. Sandra was an integral part of Anne's care giving team.

Anne is preceded in death by husband Bob, sisters Huel, Mildred, Jean and Abbie, son Martin Edward Bishop, niece Mary Lott Walker, and nephews Adam and Randy Hesse.

She is survived by children Michael L. Bishop, wife Kathy, Brenda Anne Bishop Morrow, husband Chuck, Sandra Gorman Hilliard, husband Andrew, and Benjamin M. Gorman.

She also loved her first husband's son by his second marriage, Todd M. Bishop from Miami, Florida. She is survived by nieces Margaret, Judy, Kelly, Donna, Denise, Delores along with nephews John, Steve and Allen. There are many great and great-great nephews and nieces as well!

Anne leaves a legacy of grandchildren! Martin, Bryan, Jeremy, Brazos, Amanda, Evan, Alequah, Neoma, Aaron, Rachel Rose, Jessica and Natalie. She was blessed with seventeen great grandchildren with one currently on the way!

The family is thankful to Oasis Hospice and New Haven for the care they gave Anne. She will be buried with her husband at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio. A memorial will take place at a later date. Her favorite song, Clair de 'Lune, will be played along with old Gospel tunes that she loved to sing.
